Taxidermy Links

** Our list of links keeps growing... So we've registered a domain and put a directory there for taxidermy. Now you can register your link, or your favorite links there. http://www.mytaxidermylinks.com. We'll be placing the links on this page on that domain soon. In the meantime, please feel free to add to the directory as you see fit.

This page has moved and is outdated.
You should automatically be forwarded to our new page located at

Over the years I have developed an interest in many things. Taxidermy is one of them. The school I wanted to attend here in Roxboro ended their program the year I moved into the area, so I've spent a great deal of time researching the net for what I wanted to learn. I have a specific interest in tanning hides.

I thought I would share my links with you. Hopefully they will come in handy. I've tried to include a brief description with each link, cause I really hate surfing for information and finding that search engines contain more commercial crap links than it does links that contain useful bits of information.

Soon I will be trying my hand at fleshing and tanning my first deer hide. A friend gave me a partial hide to start with and I have several salted in the freezer just waiting for me to find time to get to them. I've also acquired a salted and fleshed buffalo hide that I intend to tan using a commercial product.

If you want to know how this turns out or to see the pictures of the hide as I go, please take the time to join the farm mailing list. Joining the list won't get you spammed or anything but will save me the trouble of repeating myself a hundred times!
